These are body measurements, not garment measurements. Our gowns are cut with the ease each silhouette needs, so trust your body measurement rather than the size you usually buy.
How to measure
Measure over bare skin or close-fitting underwear, with the tape level and snug but not pulled tight. Ask someone to help if you can — self-measuring almost always adds a centimetre or two.
- Bust — around the fullest part, with the tape level across your back and the bra you intend to wear.
- Waist — around the narrowest part of your torso, usually just above the navel. Breathe out normally.
- Hip — around the fullest part, generally 20 cm below the waist, with feet together.
- Height with shoes — stand against a wall in the heels you will wear. This determines the hem on floor-length gowns.
Between two sizes
Take the larger size and let us take it in. Adding fabric is difficult and often visible; removing it is straightforward and invisible. Alterations are complimentary on Saint Therese pieces within thirty days of delivery.
If your measurements fall in different sizes — a size M bust with a size L hip, for example — order for the largest measurement and book a fitting. Most of our silhouettes are designed to be adjusted at the waist.
Fit notes by piece
- The Lumi Dress — true to size, cut close through bust and waist. If you prefer a relaxed drape, size up.
- The Gold Dress — cut narrow through the body. We recommend sizing up, or booking a fitting before ordering.
- The Vintage Debutante — true to size through the bodice; the skirt is generous by design.
Every product page carries the model’s height and the size she is wearing, which is often the fastest way to judge proportion.
Still not sure?
Send us your bust, waist, hip and height with the heels you plan to wear, and the piece you are considering. We will tell you which size to take — and if we think a piece will not work for you, we will say so.
